529 Plan In Trust

Question: tax return question?

i came to a question on my return about “qualified education distributions,” which i have to record. I received money from a qualified 529 savings plan last year for college.

it asked me for the “payer information.” now, is the payer the person who put the money in the account (e.g. my father), or is it the actual distributor? (in this case, the ohio tuition trust authority).

it also asked for a “payer i.d.,” where could i find that?

thanks

Answer: You should have received a Form 1099-Q (or similar substitute statement) that will have all of the required information on it.
