Question: Are computer equipment and Internet access still qualified education expenses for 529 plans?

In 2009 and 2010 tax years, computer equipment and Internet access were qualified education expenses for 529 plans. The IRS doesn’t have 2011 publications on its site. Have these expenses been disallowed for 2011 tax year?

The FAQ only mentions TY 2009 and 2010. It is dated 2011, however. Is that a code that the provision has been extended to TY 2011?

Answer: An FAQ page dated 6/15/2011, still lists this as a valid distribution item.
