College Savings Account For Baby

college savings account for baby
Question: I had the worst holiday experience. Am I pathetic?

I’m 34 years old. I still live at home with my parents. I’m single and have a job where I travel a lot so I really do not need my own place. I am the second eldest of four children. My siblings all have families of their own. Tonight at the dinner table they continually yelled and scruitized me for living at home. My mother still waits on me and hand and foot. I do not have to contribute to bills. My parents also still pay my car insurance and all medical bills. They still give me spending money also. I put all of my paychecks away in a savings account. I have a college degree, but my parents also “babied” me through that as well. My siblings will just not leave me alone and accept me. Is this pathetic? Recently I started dating a guy who I met through my job. He thinks it is odd how spoiled I am. Am I a horrible person? I do not know what to do or how to do anything on my own. Please please offer me some type of feedback or support!! Thanks!!

Answer: You’re not horrible, but you are a taker.
My 34 year old son was in your position. He is a rock drummer and tours the world for months at a time.
Girls would criticize him for living at home, but why should he pay rent when he’s gone at least half of the year?
Now he tours less and shares an apartment with another musician.
He has always paid his own car insurance and all credit card bills.
Living at home isn’t the issue, sponging off of your parents without contributing is the big issue. Even if they don’t complain you can bet they would really appreciate your paying your way.
Room rent, food allowance, car insurance. Become a giver.
Not too much to ask.
