Question: Anyone missed a flight on purpose?

Planning to travel to Atlanta, GA from Columbus,OH on Oct 21st but found the airfare to be pricey (around $529), whereas flight from Columbus, OH to Jacksonville, FL on the same day with 1 stop at Atlanta, GA is $100. Want to check whether I can book a ticket from Columbus, OH to Jacksonville, FL & discontinue my journey after Atlanta, GA.
One way trip with no check-in luggage

Answer: As long as it is a one trip with no checked luggage your fine. If it were round trip the system would cancel your return trip. If you had checked luggage they would consider it fare jumping and charge you the addition fee to pick up your luggage.
